China's family planning policy is well known worldwide. In Tibet it is only a mask for a systematic violence against women. It appears in a form of:

*Forced or coerced sterilization
It is done without anesthetics with non-sterilized equipment.Any woman who does not submit to a sterilization is subject to a fine. This usually means the loss of their job or property.

*Forced abortion
Sometimes in the fith or sixth, up to the ninth month of pregnancy.Tibet Justice Center reports about a late term abortion performed on a woman six months pregnant at the time:
They injected a needle in her stomach, and she gave birth. The baby was delivered and put in a bowl. The baby moved for a few minutes and then died. The baby had a hole in its head.

*Infant homicide
Affects all the women without "Certified to bear child" document. Their baby is killed at birth.

* Monitoring of reproductive cycles
This includes a practice of monthly or even weekly vaginal exams of women in their homes. Such surveillance is conducted to uncover any illegal, hidden pregnancy and end it up in an abortion.
