Repeal Mayor Libby Schaaf

Oakland is a burgeoning city of cultural beauty that should be nurtured and celebrated not stifled in order to make way for the affluently staunch. It important that during the changes that are coming that we also seek out a way to “Keep the Soul in Oakland”! We are the melting pot of the Bay Area on positioned on prime real estate, and while we welcome new businesses, fellow residents, and economic growth it is important that we also protect our cultural diversities that has made Oakland the landing place of more ethnicities and back grounds to its neighboring cities over the last 50 years. We expect that any vision for Oakland include those whom have fought long and hard to make a life here; and that those individuals are not subject to being pushed out or set aside for financial gain.

Let Oaklander's have their say and come together to combat the serious underlying issues of our city, such as our current housing crisis, and the building clash amount Oakland natives and the recent housing transplants.  Rather than throw money and policy at a bleeding wound; let actually take a deeper look into our elected officials and council members and hold those individuals accountable.  Let’s weed out those who are not here to fight for a real vison of Oakland.  We should be taking issue with crime rates, not drums in the park.  We should take to task Landlords who are pushing out working families.  To accomplish these goals we need a strong spokesperson to advocate for the existing residents and businesses of Oakland; that will help preserve the great integrities of our city instead our snuffing out our voices and energy of the creative and eclectic collage that has always made Oakland what is the best city across the Bay Area; all of which makes our city so unique and welcoming in the first place.
