When verbal abuse occurs on the job, it can make coming to work a very unpleasant experience. Some abuse, such as screaming and name-calling, is easily recognized. Other types of abuse are more subtle and difficult to detect. No matter the type of abuse, however, the negative effects are lasting and powerful."
I have lost time, wages, tips, a job, and much stress was accumulated because of a few employees whom altered the truth and deception goes a very long way...
This petition is in favor of those employees such as myself (Crystal Ruth Taber) whom have suffered mistreatment, unfair biased opinions and treatment everyday at Fish Tales in Galveston TX. The manager has caused a supplemental amount of stress, emotional pain, embarrassment and loss of money through my time as an employee at Fish Tales. I am a fair, just, hard working individual whom is a single mother trying to take care of her daughter. I was denied privileges, lunch breaks on ten plus hour shifts, humiliated and lost self-esteem through this establishment due to Maria (Fish Tales Manager). The worst part is I was fired on a day that I picked up a morning shift while already scheduled later that evening and was yelled at, accussed of lies and betrayed by my only manager I use to look up at. That day, I was accussed of denying a table which was not in my section, nor were there any other employees that worked a double that day. Yes, I was the only double shift and was brought upon pain and embarrassing acts of mis-judgement due to the hostess there as well. Also, two servers were at the computer station while all three of us were putting in orders: The hostess walked up to the two gentlemen and said, "hey, can one of you pick up a table here at 213?" Both of their replies were, No, I cant." Then, she looks over at me very rudely and discreetly and raised her voice saying the following..."I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO PICK UP THAT TABLE CRYSTAL." I REPLIED, " YOU WILL NOT SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT AND I DID PICK UP 215." SHE THEN STARTED SAYING THAT I NEEDED TO TAKE TABLE 213... AND I REPLIED, "HONEY, I AM A DOUBLE AND RICK HAS ONLY BEEN HERE FOR NIGHT SHIFT AND ITS HIS RESPONSIBILITY ...AND I AM ALREADY BEHIND ON BOTH OF MY TABLES.".
