Get Cancerous Fluorine out of Fast Food Wrappers!

No one expects fast food to be healthy, but a new report shows that cancerous chemicals exist where you might not suspect: in the wrappers.

A report published in the journal Environmental Science and Technology Letters found that one third of fast food packaging contains fluoridated chemicals. The most studied of these chemicals – also called PFAs – are linked to kidney and testicular cancer and a variety of other ailments including decreased fertility and lower immune response in children. Though the most studied forms have mostly been phased out, the newer forms need more research to assess the scope of harm they could cause.

Fluorine is potentially dangerous and has no business being in contact with heated food, at least not until further research confirms whether it is harmful. Please sign the petition to urge the FDA to phase out fluoridated chemicals in fast food packaging.

I am concerned about the frequency of fluorine use in fast food packaging, and its implications on consumer health.
