As residents of Sycamore Ridge 1 we have the right to decide what rules we want enforced in our community. Many children live in this community. Children have a right to play in the community as long as they play safe. Parents have a responsibility to monitor their children's play to ensure they are safe. At the present time, their is a NO SKATEBOARDING sign posted at the front of the community. The Sycamore Ridge 1 Board of Directors are enforcing this rule. They are sending violation and Hearing notices to homeowners. They are fining homeowners $100.00 every time a Board members allegedly sees a child riding a skateboard in the community. This needs to stop now. Many older children use their skateboard for transportation to go outside and skateboard in the City of Chula Vista streets. their are risks involve with riding bicycles, skateboarding and other activities. Parents need to monitor their very young children closely. But older children shoud be allowed to do their favorite activities outside their homes. With this in mind, it is unfair to fine residents for riding skateboards in their own community. Please sign this petion so that we can proceed with changing the unfair rules of Sycamore Ridge 1.
