DEMAND FEDERAL REGULATIONS AGAINST BULLYING AND CYBERBULLYING

Bullying and Cyber bullying is an epidemic that is out of control! When I took it upon myself to start this anti-bully campaign the amount of children as young as EIGHT years old who have taken their own lives due to bullying was astonishing to me! Bullying in school is bad enough but we are in a different day and age where it doesn't end at school and its not only children who are being targeted. Due to the internet and increasing use of social media, people both children and adults, hide behind fake profiles with the INTENT of harassing others and reeling people in to continue the online assault. I recently saw posts on Facebook by a group of "mothers" for lack of a better word that blew my mind and infuriated me! These "women" also for lack of a better word had ganged up on a new member in such an incredibly cruel, disgusting, appalling way that I couldn't believe what the hell I was looking at! Statements such as "go slit your wrists" and "I bet that cow is self soothing with Oreos right now." As I sat there with my mouth wide open, getting more and more irate as I continued to read the assault on this poor woman in the group I decided enough is enough! We need federal laws in place regarding bullying. OBVIOUSLY, expecting these issues to be handled at home by the parents is useless. These kids are learning it FROM their parents! They are raising the future assholes of America! If an alleged sex offender is found guilty they are not allowed any internet access whatsoever! They are monitored very closely and if they are caught online they could face more jail time and serious fines. So, why are Cyberbullies allowed on the internet? We need Federal Laws in place against this IMMEDIATELY.

Here are just a few thoughts: 1. If a child (a minor under the age of 18) is caught cyber bullying another person they should immediately lose all access to the internet and social media. They should have their cell phones limited by the federal government so they can only call their immediate family in case of an emergency. PERIOD. They should be required to receive mental health treatment for one year and then they must pass an assessment before getting any of those privileges reinstated. They should also be required to do volunteer work with an organization that works with the families of those who have committed suicide due to bullying.

2. If they fail to attend the required mental health treatment they should be placed on probation and the parents should be fined. Yes, the parents. It is their JOB to raise their children and enforce rules. 3. For any child (a minor under the age of 18) who cyberbullies another person their parents should also have their social media accounts investigated immediately. THEY ARE LEARNING IT FROM SOMEWHERE! If the parents are also guilty of cyber bullying then CPS should be contacted immediately and both the parent AND the child should legally lose access to the internet, be required to receive mental health treatment for one year and BOTH pass a mental health assessment before getting privileges back. The parent should also be required to attend parenting classes. They should also be required to do volunteer work with an organization that works with the families of those who have committed suicide due to bullying.

4. If you are over the age of 18 and do NOT have children the same should apply as stated in #1 as well as being required to volunteer with an organization that works with families of those who have committed suicide due to bullying.

5. Should anyone fail to meet the requirements above they should be heavily fined and face jail time. The reason this continues is because there are NO consequences for these actions and it will only get worse until we force the government to get involved and legally put strict consequences in place for cyber- bullying.

6. If the bullying is taking place at school, the bully should be expelled for the remainder of the year. They shall not be allowed to attend a different school for the remainder of the year OR be home schooled. They are instantly left back and after one year of mental health treatment and community service they should be required to pass a mental health assessment in order to be enrolled in school for the following year. If they are enrolled back into school and are found guilty of bullying again they should under federal regulation no longer be allowed to attend public school.

We all have the right to a harassment free, happy life. Join me in getting laws passed regarding bullying. Putting little ribbons on FB that state we are against bullying doesn't accomplish a thing!
