Your Excellency:

Erin Keskin is a human rights lawyer who is facing many charges for exercising her right to freedom of expression under Article 301of the Turkish Penal Code.

This conviction is due to her response to the killing of Ugur Kaymaz, a 12 year old boy, and his father Ahmet Kahmaz during an Army operation in 2004, in the province of Mardin, Turkey. Ms. Keskin asked for an accounting of the Army's killing of Ugur Kaymaz. In 2014 the European Court of Human Rights found that 12 year old Ugur Kaymaz's death had been a violation of the right to life (Article 2 of the European Convention of Human Rights [ECHR]). Amnesty International considers Erin Keskin conviction to violate her right to freedom of expression.

We the undersigned urge you to:
**Work with the Supreme Court of Appeals to overturn Erin Keskin's conviction. She should not be imprisoned for simply exercising her right to freedom of expression; and
** Allow Erin Keskin to continue to carry out her human rights work free from reprisals or judicial harassment.
