Stop William B. Rochester from being patron saint of adoptees

Please bear with me and read the history of this saint.
Saint William of Perth (or Saint William of Rochester) (died c. 1201) was a Scottish saint who was martyred in England.

Born in Perth, at this time one of the most important towns in Scotland, practically all that is known of this martyr comes from the Nova legenda Anglie, and that is little. In youth he had been somewhat wild, but on reaching manhood he devoted himself wholly to the service of God. A baker by trade (some sources say he was a fisherman), he was accustomed to set aside every tenth loaf for the poor.

He went to Mass daily, and one morning, before it was light, found on the threshold of the church an abandoned child, whom he adopted and to whom he taught his trade. Later he took a vow to visit the Holy Places, and, having received the consecrated wallet and staff as a palmer, set out with his adopted son, whose name is given as "Cockermay Doucri", which is said to be Scots for "David the Foundling". They stayed three days at Rochester, and purposed to proceed next day to Canterbury (and perhaps thence to Jerusalem), but instead David wilfully misled his benefactor on a short-cut and, with robbery in view, felled him with a blow on the head and cut his throat.

The body was discovered by a mad woman, who plaited a garland of honeysuckle and
placed it first on the head of the corpse and then her own, whereupon the madness left her. On learning her tale the monks of Rochester carried the body to the cathedral and there buried it. He was honoured as a martyr because he was on a pilgrimage to holy places. As a result of the miracle involving the madwoman as well as other miracles wrought at his intercession after death, he was acclaimed a saint by the people.

I am a catholic and an adoptee. My birth mother never wanted children and was able to take care of me but chose not to, she did not even hold me at birth. In 1958 when I was born, birth mothers were allowed to not disclose the father and she also put a veto on me being able to find her. I grew up in a family that had 2 natural children. I often felt alone and left out. So, I never knew my mother or father and dont have any natural brothers and sisters. My birth aunt found me in my early fifties and I was able to see pictures of my birth mother and get to know her a little. This was very comforting and helped gain some identity. As a catholic, I sought the catholic church for support and comfort and looked up the patron saint of adoptees. When I read that the patron saint of adoptees was a man who was robbed, and killed (throat cut)by his adopted sun my heart sank. Again we(adoptees) are shamed, misunderstood, blamed and insulted. It is always about the adopted parents. How can the church make such an insensitive error by making William B. Roshester the patron saint of adoptees?

I want the Catholic Church to change the patron saint of adoptees so when an adoptee seeks comfort in the church's wisdom, we will get support and understanding.
