We the undersigned are shocked to hear that the Learning The Blues classes at the Working Men’s College are being cut in the middle of the academic year. Students have not been given any reasons why the classes are being cut and we can't see any reason why two of the most popular classes at the college should be cut in such a dramatic way.
Furthermore the Working Men’s College is the only college in London that provides such a class for free to those on benefits. This is of great benefit in terms of education but as music is a form of therapy it also provides relief for those on sickness benefit.
We therefore believe that these classes should not be cut and we appeal to others to support us by signing this petition as cutting the Learning The Blues classes will set a precedent for other classes to be cut just as easily in the future.
