My daughters cat whom shes had since birth, accidentally slipped out, jackson county humane society was contacted several times, the first day and several days after, given a description and they denied knowing anything. I personally contacted them myself, and was also not told the truth, the woman even said they give at least 5 days to see if there's an owner. A man admitted to my daughter to calling them and telling them he thought she was feral because she hissed at him when he tried to pick her up, of course she did!! She was scared but by no means feral! They just took his word for it and killed her the same day, which it shouldn't have even mattered if she was, which she wasnt. They finally admitted to it after a few days if calling and confronting them with a witness statement saying they were seen picking her up. How is this ok?? Why did her happy life have to end and my daughter grieving the loss? There's no reason for it, they had no right to do this! And get away with it!! There's something really wrong with that! They continued to deny it on top of the fact they killed a happy, well loved, well behaved cat. Something needs to be done. There needs to be justice for this action!! This shouldn't have happened and should never happen again!
