New Jersey state senators have passed a bill that would require the state to get eighty percent of its energy from renewables, such as wind and solar energy, by 2050.
I think we all know New Jersey provides more than its fair share of emissions, at least in part because part of the state is basically a suburb of New York city. New Jersey is heavily populated which means that it puts a strain on resources and contributes heavily to carbon emissions which are driving climate change.
So New Jersey's Senate is due some praise for taking decisive action. The legislation (S-1707) passed the Senate very recently, and is due to be voted on in the state's assembly. This bill will encourage homeowners and businesses to convert from dirty coal-driven electricity and fracked gas to clean, infininely renewable energy that comes from the sun and wind.
Please join me in asking the New Jersey General Assembly to pass S-1707.Act today because this important issue is being decided on as you read.
Dear [Legislator],
I wish to applaud your state senate for S-1707's forward-thinking approach to energy and ask the general assembly to follow the senate's example in approving this important bill.
Specifically, the bill aggressively supports a conversion to renewable energy. It also weans that state from fossil fuels and dirty coal which drive climate change. While New Jersey currently puts a huge strain on nature's infrastructure, this bill has the potential to hugely mitigate the damage of overbuilding and highways.

Please move forward and approve S-1707 which calls for the state to get eighty percent of its energy from renewables by 2050.
Sincerely,
