WE'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THE POOR BROADBAND SERVICE BY TELSTRA AND SUNDRY

I'm optimistic that the Government will not ignore the needs of the rural areas and it is the case that they just are totally unaware of the pathetic network service provided by the so called communications companies.

The internet is now a fact of life and whether we agree with it or not, many businesses would not survive without it, including farmers and graziers.

Let's help the food growers of Australia!

For many years the Southern Riverina farmers and graziers have had to tolerate the lack of modern facilities for running technologically beneficial applications for their business. They don't have the benefit of ADSL and have to rely on the 3G network which either drops phone conversations or cuts short an update to a web application that they're using for their business. BROADBAND FOR THEM IS VERY, VERY NARROW!

ADSL does not reach far enough for these Australian dependent resources while the carriers for CBD Sydney and Melbourne fully support the wasted network use by many people with mobile devices either typing a Facebook note or discussing what a friend did last night. It just doesn't make much sense!

From continuous enquiries about NBN, nothing will change for the constituents of Finley, Jerilderie, Tocumwal, Deniliquin and many other small location in the state of N.S.W. bordering with Victoria. Even in the town centre of Finley, the internet performance for business dependent on the internet, as most businesses do world wide, sadly lacks in these small towns. Their businesses are suffering severely. Is the band width provided for Finley inadequate? Ironically there is a Telstra exchange in Finley town centre and approximated 12 kilometres from the town centre is an Optus tower but after a year is still not totally active. The residents at the best of times receive one(1) bar signal strength on their phones outside, and inside their houses absolutely no signal. How would you cope with going outside the house every time to make or receive a phone call? Keep in mind that land lines are diminishing quickly.

The Southern Riverina is serious in pursuing this agricultural technological necessity until this issue is resolved and in the very immediate future, not years hence when the communication companies feel obliged to do something about it. Companies like Telstra, Optus, DoDo ... etc., are billing these customers and for some reason they think that they are fulfilling their obligations to provide a phone and broadband service. An enquiry is in demand and fully documented results published.

This issue will not be dismissed by the regional community! Do something about it and soon please, these people are the foundation of food for the nation and export, you are putting them at the bottom of the priority list for communication. It's the 21st century and these people are enduring dark age communications.

GOVERNMENT ACTION IS REQUIRED AND VERY SOON!
