Ban the use of Pesticides that are contaminating our food supply

Even when using pesticides in amounts within regulations, studies have shown neurotoxins can do serious damage during development stages. The dangers of pesticides start as early as the fetal stages of life. Results from studies have shown fetuses that have been exposed to pesticides exhibit behavioral problems. They also exhibit growth issues, fewer nerve cells, lower birth weight, and a 70% increased risk for Parkinson’s disease.
A recent test done by the Department of Agriculture showed that, almost 70 percent of the fruit and vegetables sold in America still contained pesticide residue even after carefully washing and peeling them. Hot peppers for example contained residues of highly toxic insecticides to include a neurotoxin called chlorpyrifos. The use of chlorpyrifos has also been found in other foods. What kind of government approves the use of neurotoxins in our food?
Pesticides can remain in the body and build up in the liver and fatty tissue. These toxins increase our risk for cancer, liver & kidney damage, skin irritations, breathing problems, brain disorders, reproductive damage, and even death. Even at so called “safe” levels, people are still being affected by these toxins.
Not only are these pesticides a threat to humans, but they are killing our pollinators that we depend on to support our food systems.
I am requesting to ban the use of pesticides from being used in or around our food supply. I am requesting that the food consumed by Americans be free from chemicals and toxins.
