With one vital science program after another being done away with, now Attorney Jeff Sessions wants to do away with the Forensic Science Commission! This could mean that the Department of Justice will not always use unbiased evidence based science during its investigations!
According to The Washington Post:
"In a statement Monday, Sessions said he would not renew the National Commission on Forensic Science, a roughly 30-member advisory panel of scientists, judges, crime lab leaders, prosecutors and defense lawyers chartered by the Obama administration in 2013."
"Overburdened crime labs" will now be monitored by internal advisers. In other words, there will be no independent system of checks and balances to insure the best practices are being used and being used fairly!
Please tell A.G. Jeff Sessions to reverse this egregious decision and stay on the path of fairness and transparency!

We (the undersigned) are deeply concerned about your recent decision to remove independent reviews of forensic science practices within the Department of Justice.
Our democracy should always be transparent and conducted in a manner that allows for a proper system of checks and balances.
By removing the Forensic Science Commission and installing "internal" personnel, you are assuring a biased and questionable system!
Please reverse this decision!
