STOP hunting of native wildlife in NSW national parks

In June 2009, the Hon. Robert Bown MLC (Shooters Party) introduced into NSW Parliament a private member's bill that would, among other things allow for the hunting of native Australian wildlife in national parks and reserves.

Wildlife Advocate seeks the support of similar organisations and like-minded individuals to oppose this bill and to call on the NSW Government, through the Premier to have this bill rejected.

We the undersigned are extremely upset to learn that your parliamentary colleage, the Hon. Robert Brown, has introduced a private member's bill that would, among other things permit the shooting of native Australian wildlife in national parks and reserves.

This bill runs contrary to the purpose of these national parks, which is to provide a refuge for our native Australian wildlife away from interference or hunting.

We call on you and your colleagues to reject this bill when it is next discussed in parliament.

We thank you for your consideration and action on this matter.
