An Open Letter to our Nation's Leadership

Principles
I. Illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.
II. TARP. I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.
III. Czars. I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.
IV. Cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.
V. Universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!
VI. Growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.
VII. ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.
VIII. Redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? What do you have against shareholders making a profit?
IX. Charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.
X. Corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band%u2011Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.
XI. Transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try %u2011%u2011 please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.
XII. Unprecedented spending. Stop it now. Take a breath. Listen to the people.

Enough alresdy!! Mr Obama you do NOT listen to us! Not even when we are on your front door step! What does it take?? This is not The Untied States of Obama, IT IS AMERICA! We have had enough. How much more proof do you need?
I am sick and tired of our representative that have forgotten who and why they were sent to Washington! When we the people say NO, you vote NO!! Get out of our lives, leave us to get the economy back on track, take care of our borders and our security. Each one of you needs to read the Constitution - it is the instrument that gives you the limited powers that you have. However, you seem to have forgotten that!
I agree totally with the 12 points listed in this letter to our Federeal Government. Please listen to the American people and stop the Socialist agenda road that you're on.

I am a 40 year old female struggling through another bad election, bad year. I am tired of big government and big corporations interfering in my life, making decisions on my behalf without any accountability of their greedy self serving actions. We the people pay the price for their lack of judgment, morals and scruples! I agree with this letter, wholeheartedly!
Wholeheartedly agree w/ content of the letter. Your oath of office is a mere formality. An action as empty and meaningless as most of our elected reps.
One doesn't neet to be a genius to see that her letter has described the idiosy going on in Washington today. Elected officials feel so powerful and confident they don't realize that they are elected by the people they are ignoring and abusing. 2010 is going to be a historic year when Washington finds out that Americans are actually paying attention to what is being done to America and will truly make a change that will be remembered.
Keep the government out of our health care and stop blaming George Bush for everything the Democratic Party has done. They have been in charge of the nation's budget since 2007. We are one nation under God. Let us go forth and take back our nation from those who think (and act) otherwise. Our past president Ronald Reagan had some very poignant relativisms with regards to goverment. Please take the time to appreciate his wisdom.
All politician's should be limited to 2 terms. Then be required to go out and get work, not in any Company that they had anything to do with while in office or was enhanced by any of their work or decisions. They do not get lifetime pensions from political service, Nor do they get lifetime medical service. In all respects they all become everyday citizens. politicians need to be informed at all times they are in a position of service to us. We are not there to reward them especially for lousey work. It is an absolute criminal disgrace that so many of our congressmen/women and other politicos have become so wrapped up in themselves and their power and their party allegiance that they have completely forgotten what the majority of people in America want. It is absolutely necessary that every partisan member of congress be voted out of office when their next election comes about. The "hope and change" we seek is not the bullshit that is being shoved down our throats now, the "hope and change" we need is a return to the greatness that made America the best place in the world to live. The racial inequalities have been settled. Now it is time for the politicos to recognize that some people need to get off their ass and the welfare/I'm entitled to someone elses income and start dipping their oar in the water. And don't bother to ask me about this illegal immigration situation. Lock the borders down, get rid of the illegal aliens and let people come to America legally and with the desire to add to our greatness, not to live off of it.

To Whom It May Concern: I am 66 year old Viet Nam vet that has always been PROUD of my country and what it has stood for. I served and defended my country in some of it's worst of times, and I was blessed to make it back to my loved ones and my beloved America. A lot of my friends did not! However now, with the apparent path you, our legislators, are taking our' Country, I can no longer hold my head high and tell the world that "YES, I'm and American!" You are demeaning and ruining the greatest country in the world, and I will do anything and everything in my power to stop the crazyness you people in Washington seem hell bent in carying out.

This country has morphed into something unrecognizable as America under the relentless rape of our constitution by the people we have elected to run it. Even the elections are suspect in this day and age. The government has given America, its businesses, its jobs, even its land to foreign powers. Our borders are like sieves that allow anyone from anywhere to walk in and start claiming our resources. It's time to clean house and sweep out rats that have taken over the White House.I'm tired of being lied to. I'm tired of American citizens being responsible for paying the entire world's way when we have nothing left for ourselves. I'm sick of the way Americans are openly laughed at by the rest of the world while we feed their children and fund their economic growth. Its time. Its way past time to do something. This country is bankrupt and we can no longer afford to do anything until our deficit is gone and we are once again a world leader. We need to get power away from the Federal Govt. and back to the States where it belongs. We need jobs, not more politicians making promises they can't keep.

It is time someone listened to The God Of Our Fathers and Not the god of a foreign nation that is trying to impose its belief system on us. My great grand parents came to the USA as immigrants because of religious persecution. Paid the price and legally immigrated. Do you get it???? These twelve principles are exactly what the words on so many Tea Party signs have expressed. When will Washington begin to listen? Will it take at revolt in this year's elections to send a clear common sense message to the political parties that we have had enough of their nonsense?
I'm sure this letter will be scrutinized and checked for "real person" accuracy instead of taking it to heart, after all, we as Americans don't count, and we only get in the way of political agendas. Fire them all, withdraw membership in the United Nations and drug tests for ALL politicians!

I am a Mother and Grandmother, I am a lucky one because I work 40 hours a week. I am however in full agreement with the woman who wrote this letter. I WILL BE one of the "We the People" that helps remove you ALL from office and start over until we get back this Great Country of ours.

Get back to basics - please! This country was also founded on God and His grace on our new country (and we used to thank Him for our country and our freedom) - don't push Him out either! If He was in all of our politicians lives more, we probably would not have many of the issues we do now in this petition.

Enough is enough. Stop the politicians from getting one dime more once they leave office. Make them have to depend on Medicare so that maybe then they would fix the issue for all Americans. AND IF You dont pay in......you dont get any out. You want this Healthcare plan, then all politicians will be on the same plan that you want to put the public on with NO alterations or exceptions. I want to put a cap on what ANY elected official can make and let the public vote on pay raises. I want ALL elected officials to be held accountable for their actions and if they no show to meetings, they need to be fired just like I would be if I didnt show up for work. I want the spending for BS to STOP! STOP! STOP! I want the bailout to corps to stop. What part of "You are not helping put groceries on my table, or helping me find a job by bailing out corps!" do you not understand. Not be any means prejudice, but how can you allow illegal aliens to come here, work under the table, send money back to their country, have children here and make me pay for their medical and food by GIVING them medicaid and food stamps when THEY NEVER PAID ONE DIME TO THE SYSTEM.
