Petition for increased security and crime prevention

Crime has become more frequent and more violent on Mud Island.  It is the responsibility of every citizen to help protect one another from violent crime within our neighborhood.  The resident's of the Island View Homeowner's Association have recognized a need for increased security and a firm but polite pro-active approach towards this infestation within our neighborhood.

We, the undersigned, have recognized that crime has infiltrated this great neighborhood.  Further, crime has become more frequent and more violent, affecting not only the residents within the Island View Homeowner's Assocation, but residents on the entire island as well.  We ask for your consideration of the following:

--Feasibility of a private security company

--Representation by our association leaders at the next available council meeting to discuss concerns raised by its citizens

--Certified letter to each apartment complex general manager stating our concerns over the escalation in violent crime and ask that they assist us in the effort rid this once peaceful neighborhood of this infestation

--Continued pro-active approach to the cessation and prevention of crime in our neighborhood
