Ashe Carter, Clean Up Military Waste in Greenland!

The cold war between super powers is over. But Greenland, never a major player in that fight, is still dealing with the fall out. America left behind a bunch of highly dangerous nuclear debris on Greenland when we abandoned a nuclear cold war base on that frozen island. Now, thanks to climate change, the ice that sealed it all in is melting, possibly leaving it exposed in the next few years. If exposed, this waste represents a terrible danger to Greenland's inhabitants and wildlife.

The United States needs to take responsiblity for its mess. Please join me in asking Defense Secretary Ashe Carter clean up the United States' military waste in Greenland.

Dear Mr. Carter:

Greenland was pretty much an innocent bystander in America's silent war against communism. Now, however, that frozen, unpopulated island is dealing with the fall out from the cold war. It appears that a load of nuclear waste was left behind when America abandoned a cold war base stationed on Greenland. While the ice and snow kept that waste locked in for many years, now, thanks to climate change, the ice on Greenland is melting. The waste could be uncovered and become toxic to local inhabitants and wildlife in the next few years. Please clean up your nuclear waste on Greenland!
