DisabilitySA . Get the disabled to their needed Medical appointments!!

Please sign this no matter what country you are in, if you believe that everyone should have the right to be able to access medical care. No one should be being discluded due to Disability.

Im a severely physically disabled client of my states Disablity department, DisabilitySA and are being treated extremely unfairly by them in lots of ways but will just focus on one here. I have mutiple severe medical issues requiring treatment or monitoring, yet very rarely able to get to my specialists. For over a year Ive been missing seeing nearly all my specialists which I needed and still need to see. This neglect of a disabled group of people is going on in a developed country.. Australia.

After almost a year of missing my appointments, they have just started to take me to my specialist appointments but their latest is of making me choose between my specialists when I have urgent medical needs and of cause different specialists deal with different issues .  They will only do a contract for support for me to get to ONE appointment at a time. It has taken them 5-6 months to arrange an urgent contract for one of my specialists I'd been pushing hard to get too.

The current terrible choice they are giving me is seeing my specialist that deals a condition I have in which I need to wear medical compression stockings for and who I need to see to get a new referal for medical compression stockings.. without these stockings Im more disabled and cant be upright as long in a day. (Having these stockings extends the activity I can do about 30mins or so a day which may not sound much to a healthy person but to a person who can do very little physically like myself, its a lot. Ive been needing to go back to that specialist for over a year (pushing to get back to all my needed specialists for a year) and pushing hard to get to that appointment for 5-6? mths!. I have been without my stockings now for almost 6mths since my others majorly ripped, they would of had to have been replaced by now anyway (so this means more collapses for me. Its been humiliating being collapsed on supermarket floors).. or chose going to my allergist.

I had a severe food reaction where my mouth burned, went red and swelled 6 weeks ago (affecting my tongue too. I almost had to ring an ambulance) and I dont know which food it was that I had that day which I reacted too so are at risk of it happening again.. possibly life threatening!!! So I need to urgently go back to my allergist for allergy testing. What a choice and one I shouldnt have to make. I should be being helped NOW to get to BOTH medical appointments!!! I should be being helped to get to my medical appointments whenever needed. Its taken 6mths for them to arrange for me an opportunity to get to my specialist for my compression stockings and to have to choose between that and going to my allergist for possible life threatening thing.. is a terrible decision they are forcing me to make (of cause Im going to have to choose going to the allergist and still be without my needed compression stockings).

*note my compression stockings I had a fitting for many many months ago but they cant give them to me until they have the referal from the specialist... by the time I get it, Im going to need a appointment for a fitting all over again (so will be fighting to get there for that then). My local GP cant give me the referal as she's she said she didnt know enough about that condition and hence the specialist needs too.

Im alo have many other specialists for my issues physio, gyno, a lyme disease specialist I want to get back and see.. I havent been even able to get back and get my test results there etc etc Sorry for my ramble (I also have Aspergers) but Please sign this petition calling on my state disability department to get disabled patients to their medical appointments and help me get to my medical appointments please.  No one should be being left without medical care in a developed country due to being too disabled to get there themselves.

I do not know if the above is just happening to me as possibly maybe Im being disciminated against due to also having ME/CFS (many of the mutiple coexisting conditions I have eg dysautonomia etc are a part of that).
