Protect the Water: Tell Gastem to Drop Lawsuit Against Ristigouche

The tiny township of Ristigouche Sud-Est in Quebec's beautiful Gaspé Peninsula is fighting against a corporate giant in order to protect its water.

The village passed a local by-law preventing drilling within a two kilometre area around its local water sources. This by-law has stopped the oil corporation, Gastem, from exploring for oil in the area, something that would threaten the drinking water of the village.

Now Gastem is fighting back and suing the small community for millions of dollars, something that would bankrupt the township. This is a heinous act of petty retribution against a small town fighting for its water supply.

By taking action today you will be helping to raise the voices of those already fighting this David and Goliath battle in the area. Your voice is needed now, more than ever.

Sign today to protect the water and tell Gastem to drop the lawsuit against Ristigouche Sud-Est.
