Strong demand for a walk-in Emergency room at Samoc (Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre)

As a mother of a 19 year old boy who has been receiving chemotherapy these past three years, I find it really disappointing that if an emergency occurs, he has to go to the Emergency Department at Mater Dei and risk getting more infections / viruses and other nasty bugs lurking around from others sick people in the area.

From our last experience, an empty room was provided for us after some time but blood tests were taken after an hour and and a half and antibiotics after 4 hours. With a high fever and receiving chemotherapy this could have been fatal for him.

I am creating a petition so that a walk-in Emergency Room is provided at SAMOC (Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre) for patients who are receiving chemotherapy. This would result in decreased waiting time, being more safe from any infections in the area and doctor / nurses specialized in oncology.

Presently, I am collecting signatures and ID Numbers from the Male and Female Wards however I cannot reach everyone. Thanks to everyone.
