Apple has launched iOS 10 update in early September, apart from routine bug fixing, a number of new features were introduced by the update. Apple's iOS 10 updates live up to the milestone software version number, the major changes included the new lock screen interface, new messaging features and installed a new batch new emoji.

The new batch of emoji as "Apple Color Emoji font" replaced the entire old set. Most of the original emoji are slightly altered with little changes that are barely noticeable; however, one of the most frequently used emoji, the Grinning face with smiling eyes, have been changed dramatically in a way that it no longer presents the similar feeling that people used to use it.

The Grinning face with smiling eyes emoji used to be a passionate broad simile, the grin exhaustively shows sincere exhilaration and elation in a natural manner. The Grinning face with smiling eyes emoji fits and is usable in most daily scenarios, however, it is now replaced by the perfunctory smile’s emoji. Compare to the original one, the perfunctory smile emoji tends to be more insincere and looks like a fake smile, it only functions better if it in business scenarios or commercial social activities when you need a mild smile that are not too excessive to fit with the context. Rather than expressing your real happiness, the perfunctory smile emoji can merely show your kindness but it no longer shows your passion, it is soulless!

The functionality of the Grinning face with smiling eyes emoji had been deflected by removing the teeth and turning the circle-shaped mouth into a D-shaped one. As a result, the perfunctory smile’s emoji manifest polite and courtesy but with less sincerity and less informal. Since an informal usage of texting and emoji are more popular nowadays, we hope Apple could give us back the Grinning face with smiling eyes emoji which, in most case, can accurately express my feeling than the perfunctory smile’s emoji.

With all those lovely changes in iOS 10, we all know Apple take care of users very much. Hope Apple take this letter seriously and give us back the Grinning face with smiling eyes emoji. And you will see my grinning face with smiling eyes with my mouth “wild opened”.
