Prosecute Former MTV Star For Animal Cruelty, Banning Her From Future Animal Ownership

This is a horrific story but luckily with a happy ending for the puppy named Benson. It is amazing that he survived and this woman needs to be held accountable for her actions and never be allowed near another animals the rest of her life!!
A former MTV star by the name of Madeleine Cornish was arrested recently after it was discovered that she starved her mastiff puppy, Benson and then abandoned him on the side of a Kentucky road so that she would not get in trouble. Her charges are initially a misdemeanor which does not fit her crime at all!
This monster did not give her puppy for or water for at least three weeks and when examined by the veterinarian, Benson scored 1 on the body weight chart — the lowest level before death. At five or six months old, the pooch should have been more than 50 pounds, vets said. He was barely 30 pounds; all skin and bones!
Benson is now living with a foster family and is expected to make a full recovery. His owner, the 22-year-old, started in MTV's 2010 show "Baby High," a series that chronicled the lives of girls enrolled in a special Louisville high school program for teen moms. Police state that earlier this summer, Cornish was moving between two homes when she left Benson in an empty house without any nourishment. Three weeks later, she returned to find the pooch severely emaciated and on the verge of death. Rather than getting help for her dog, she dumped the poor animal on the side of a road.
It was some neighbors who discovered the abandoned, severely malnourished animal and brought him into the Arrow Fund which is a Kentucky-based shelter. The shelter and their vets were able to very carefully nurse him back to health, currently weighing in at a robust 52.2 pounds. There is however no excuse for the abuse this poor animal had to endure. If those good Samaritans had not found Benson in time, he would not be currently enjoying life and looking for a new home.

Kentucky Judicial System - MTV star Madeleine Cornish needs to be punished more severely than a misdemeanor for abusing and neglecting her dog to near death and then tossing him along the side of the road to hide the evidence!! This is clearly animal cruelty that deserves at least a felony with fines and jail time. Additionally, ban this so-called young woman from ever owning another animal for the rest of her life; ban her from even coming anywhere near another animal. This was such a cruel, horrific situation and luckily for the people that found Benson the dog, his life was spared! Through the book at this woman and make sure everyone in the "star" world knows what kind of person she is!!!
