Starting this fall Minneapolis will observe an Indigenous People's Day on October 2nd, the day federally reserved to celebrate the outright murder of Native American Indians by Christopher Columbus and the English who first "discovered" America. This is our chance to observe this long overdue holiday in the light it should be viewed in nationwide. This is our chance to teach the children of America the truth about their ancestors instead of feeding them lies to glorify the man who invaded a land of peaceful and environmentally responsible people in order to Establish a country that has treated its Native people unjustly.
