"Save the Saimaa ringed seal and Protect the environment"

A Canadian mining company named Belvedere Resources Ltd with the blessings of the Finnish government and their weak and incomplete law over the protection of the environment from mining, are preparing the genocide of the Saimaa ringed seal.
Saimaa ringed seal, has been protected since 1955, also be the WWF and included in the endanger list as only 250 of them left in the world.
The Belvedere Resources Ltd are going to build a gold mine near the village of Osikonmaki, in a landscape of national significance and the area of the Saimaa ringed seal breeding zone. Mining always poison the immediate environment and that will be the end of the natural beauty of the area of Haukivesi Saimaa and of the Saimaa ringed seal.
Also the people who traditionally live there for generations, will force to evacuate and quit their property and land and jobs, that are based in agriculture and forestry. Meaning people who basically protect and care about the environment. People who live in natural rhythms and in harmony with nature.
Their voices are not heard and no one seems to care about their future. No one seems to care about the unique Saimaa ringed seal, the environment and the future of our land and our world.
We call the Belvedere Resources Ltd to quit their disastrous plans. We call the Finnish parliament to reject this "investment" and make a strong law for the protection of the environment and in particular, of the area of the Saimaa ringed seal breeding zone.
We call the people who care from around the world to support our efforts and be the first reaction for this outrageous plans.
Honorable members of the Finnish Parliament,
people around the world learn about the “investment” of the Belvedere Ltd in the breeding area of the endangered Saimaa ringed seal. Also for the incomplete and weak mining and environmental laws of Finland.
We all know the destructive consequences, direct and permanent on the environment, especially from the gold mines. And we deeply concern for the future of the unique and endangered Saimaa ringed seal. Also for the future of the rest of the endemic or not animals of Finland. We deeply concerned of the consequences of such “investments” in areas of significant beauty – and Finland has so many of them.
Finland has the ability and should have a different model of development. A model that should respect and protect all: humans, animals, our environment. Finland should be a pioneer and an example for the rest of the world in such issues.
Therefore, we urge you to reject the “investment” of the Belvedere Ltd in the breeding area of the Saimaa ringed seal and take immediate action, not only for the protection, but for the increase of the population of this magnificent animal.
We urge you to build strong laws for the protection of the environment, for the protection of all animals, for today's and for future generations.
We urge you to adopt strict measures and policies that will protect our unique heritage and will provide the high values of human kind.
