I have worked for chain supermarkets since I was 15, I've seen millions of pounds of waste food been binned even if a day old just because some one touched it who didn't buy it. After volunteering with the homeless and a recent volunteer trip to Africa has made me understand how little people have especially when it comes food. A decent meal may provide days of food for one person and the energy to survive the cold winter nights ahead now we're approaching winter. In the UK we throw a whooping 18 million tonnes of food and drink a year that ends up in a landfill. there are almost 85,000 household in the uk with at least one person classified as homeless think of how much food could be provided for those people! You should sign this petition to not only help the environment but to help all those people out of there that are starving and rapidly loosing the will to survive this christmas. Lets make this country a better, safer place for the homeless and for the environment. Thank you.
