Call on Police Departments to Stand With the LAPD Against Deportations

President-elect Donald Trump has promised mass deportations when he begins his presidency. However, Los Angeles' police chief, Charlie Beck, has come out publicly to state that he will not aid in the deportation effort in LA.

This is a brave declaration that other police departments need to support. Police departments are going to be the ones responsible for enforcing the deportations and they have the ability to protest the stance the government is taking.

By having a number of prominent police departments refusing to take part in the deportations, these people will be safer and these nationalist, isolationist laws will be more criticized.

Sign today to pressure other police departments to pledge to not aid with mass deportments. By signing today you are standing with millions of people whose lives and livelihoods are being threatened by mass deportations.

To the Police Chiefs of New York, Denver, Seattle, Portland and Chicago,

Recently, your counterpart in LA has publicly stated that his police department will not aid in the deportations that President-elect Trump is calling for.

These deportations will cost millions to enforce and put a strain on any police force, as well as being detrimental for millions of peoples' lives and livelihoods.

As leaders of some of the largest PDs in the country I call on you to stand with Police Chief Beck and to publicly state that you will not be helping in the deportations.

As police chiefs your departments have the ability to not comply with these unreasonable orders.
