SHUT DOWN BC "FIREY SPIRIT RANCH" FOR HORSE NEGLECT-THIS IS NOT A HORSE RESCUE AS SHE CLAIMS

This woman takes in horses and tells the public she is a horse rescue and she is not. When she receives the horses they are in good shape, but due to her lack of care and money to buy hay and food for them she intentionally starves them. 

IF YOU LOVE HORSES AND WANT JUSTICE FOR THEM FAKE HORSE RESCUES LIKE THIS ONE WE LIVED AND VOLUNTEERED ON MUST BE SHUT DOWN BY THE COURTS AND THE BC SPCA. THESE BEAUITFUL EQUINES WILL SUFFER MORE HARDSHIP AND PERHAPS EVEN DEATH DUE TO DELIBRATE STARVATION AND LACK OF EMPATHY.

This supposed self proclaimed horse rescue located in Keremeos, BC is not a rescue it is a death trap. It is owned by a woman that meets the criteria for an animal hoarder who cannot sustain her herd or her pets.

UPDATE OCTOBER 24-13-I called and received a call back today from my MLA's office (Linda Larson) that she is under very strict orders with timelines, and that three of her mares are indeed about to foal. Also the BC SPCA confirmed that she is NOT a horse rescue as she has told the public, facebook and more specifically the BC SPCA. 

I believe with that lie her privacy or the outcome of the vet's reports on his examination of those horses should be made public. If you are a business and you are preying on the decency of the public you should lose your right.

She needs to be held accountable not only for deliberately lying to the public but to the BC SPCA as well. In Canada, you do not need to be a registered horse rescue and that needs to change. This naive, immature and abusive woman has preyed upon the goodness of people believing that their horses or livestock were going to a forever home or rescue. Not a farm to be intentionally neglected or to die a slow death.

As you can see some of the photos of the horses on this FB page look healthy as that is when she was given them for free. Now they are thin, sick and needing our help to push the BC SPCA to remove them and take her to court.


My years of experience in post-secondary, post-grad and work experience in mental health and the DSM-IV Spectrum of Disorders leads me to believe she is an animal hoarder not an animal cursader.

• She will take in any livestock telling people they will have a wonderful life and most will most likely die under her care. 
• She will sell anything for any amount she can get for herself not for the animals she has sent horses to auction where killbuyers can buy them, but claims to be a horse rescue.

We tried to adopt a donkey and a very abused horse of hers but to be spiteful she sent them to auction. All of her mares are pregnant by her four studs and any horse rescue does not breed their mares or do they sell their horses either.

The problem is not only the amount of orders she has received but the SPCA has a habit of not shutting down these places due to not being able to place all of the horses; which is not right. That is their mandate and I plan on holding them to it as I have lived on this farm and seen first hand what happens when decent people like me are not there to feed the animals.

• She is not a horse rescue and has told the SPCA that she is and that the horses she received were given to her as rescues and that is a lie. Those horses were in excellent condition when they arrived it was due to her neglect and abuse they are suffering.

As stated we have lived on this farm for several months this past summer. As well several other individuals that lived there to help on this supposed horse rescue and the conditions are bad, the horses have no food and are constantly getting out onto a very busy stretch of highway #3 due to the owner failing to fix the old fences.

Please say you will sign and share this petition to shut this fake horse rescue farm down.

Once you start to realize that she cannot sustain that herd, and that she spends all of her off time on her computer instead of fixing fences, excercising her horses or caring for them and you stand up to this behaviour she turns on you with a vengence.

Everyone that has lived there has been victimized, harassed and threatened by her and members of her family to the point that the RCMP have to be called in.

Not only do we live in fear of her and members of her family but our beloved INDOOR rescued Siamese cat went "missing." She became legally responsible for our cat once we left due to violence. We came back with a police officer to retrieve him the very next morning and he was gone. An indoor cat simply vanished.

The SPCA has done nothing to investigate where our cat went to. He has never gone "missing" in the five years we have had him and yet I am to believe that this person who is under strict orders by the BC SPCA is to be believed when she told them that the cat was there the day before in the house, but the next day when we returned with a cop that he is "missing."

I have no doubt that she knows or did something to him and considering how she cares of her personal pets which is appalling he is either dead, injured or has been sold for cash.

The owner is $8000.00 in rent arrears and none of the rent money she has failed to pay has gone to the horses. They need to be surrendered and she needs to be charged with animal cruelty and never permitted to own any livestock or pets. 

Please see her ads on kijiji listing some of the horses she got for FREE and now is trying to sell them. The one mini pony TANK was acquired 48 hours after the last round of BC SPCA orders were issued on September 13-2013, and she is not permitted to acquire any animals while under open orders, but she did and they should have taken the mini pony and fined her.
So why haven't they? 

If the SPCA wants the public to be their eyes then they must be more vigilant and stop allowing these farms to exist.

This farm in particular is very hard to view as it sits atop a hill with much tree coverage and I truly believe that is part of her ammo. Not being visible on a regular basis to the public's eye keeps these horses and other animals in harm's way.

All of her personal pets are not fixed and have been bred as well all of her dogs live their lives tied up outside to trees. Our winters are too cold for that and I believe they should be removed as well. I spoke with one of the managers at the Penticton branch and she clearly stated that her dogs could not be tied up outside but they still are tied to trees.

She is an animal hoarder it as simple as that. She is accusing me of calling the BC SPCA for her troubles but the reality is the BC SPCA was there due to her and the herd constantly being out of the highway in front of her farm they were called by the RCMP. I am not the person that called on her and if I was I would have no issues admitting that. 


They were there over a report of thin horses that she was hiding inside the barn all summer long to avoid the SPCA. She will hide them at her mom's house as well thinking people won't notice. The town is furious and everyone that has contacted me or approached me want her shut down but run out of town as well. They have had it with her lies, BS and the treatment of the horses. There are many horse properties around here and none of them care for her they all believe she is an animal abuser.

She would not fix the fencing when we told her that it would cause a major accident and that she would be held liable. Not until a kind person reported her and the RCMP did she do something due to the orders. Not because she was concerned about the herds well-being.

Don't like having to get off your fat ass to take care of your livestock then surrender them to people who care. She is the only one truly responsible for those horses as she is the owner and yet she likes to tell lies to anyone that will listen on how her friends have starved her horses all the while she was away at work in town at Wal-Mart.

The BC SPCA and RCMP have told her and I witnessed this that she is fully responsible for her herd, pets and all other animals and should stop blaming others for her lack of knowledge, understanding and inability to sustain that many horses with no pasture for them to graze.

Then shut her down and seize all of her animals. There are many good people out there that will take these horses but not if it means she makes a dime off of it. 

Foals have died from her direct neglect by refusing to feed one after her mare Flicka rejected it and the twin died shortly after birth. She never called a vet and the poor thing died from dehydration from no liquid for 48 hours.

In addition, chickens and ducks more than I can count died by starvation due to not being fed over the winter months. Pure laziness is why these animals are suffering. The two people that lived there prior to me and my daughter have their own horror stories and they are helping to have her shut down.

The minute you try to tell her what needs to be done or what the horses require such as real hay or fresh grass she turns on you and she and her violent mother make your life a living hell until you leave. That places the horses in more jeopardy because no one is there to look out for them. The BC SPCA cannot be there everyday to monitor whether or not she is feeding them or providing fresh water to them as their orders state, so why don't they just seize them.

WHY GIVE HER ANY MORE CHANCES? WE FEAR SOME OF THESE HORSES WILL NOT MAKE IT OVER THE LONG WINTER DUE TO THE WEIGHT LOSS AND CONDITIONS OF THE FARM. HOLD THEM TO THEIR MANDATE PLEASE SIGN AND SHARE THIS WITH YOUR FRIENDS WHO WANT THESE HORSES AND ANIMALS SEIZED AND GIVEN THE CHANCE TO LIVE A BETTER LIFE.

What she fails to realize is she is incapable of sustaining that many animals on an hourly wage of $11.25 per hour from Wal-Mart. The monthly rent is $1600.00 plus all utilities. She has a car payment, car insurance and has to feed herself let alone all of the animals.

3. All of the dogs are tied up outside 24/7 and yet in her ad she claims her dogs are obedient and good at their jobs. They are never taken off their chains and she has gone days without feeding them. No one leaves their dogs tied up on chains and ropes who cares for their well-being. None of her pets are spayed or neutered. She breeds her stallions and horse rescues do not breed their stock ever.

Both of these horses are healthy and in excellent shape, but she is trying to wiggle $140.00 out of the owner for an examination by a vet ordered by the BC SPCA that I highy doubt they ordered. The owner will be calling the vet and the BC SPCA tomorrow to have documents proving his two horses required a vet.
