Our aim is to campaign for Mr Megrahi release from prison so that he can continue the treatment for his terminal illness whilst awaiting his appeal.
JFM will not interfere with or comment upon the legal issues relating to Mr Megrahi appeal. Rightly so, these are matters for Mr Megrahi legal team and ultimately their Lordships in the Court of appeal.

We, the undersigned, hopeful that an application will be made to the Scottish Ministers for the compassionate release of Mr Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, respectfully urge the Scottish Ministers to take into account the following factors.
Mr Megrahi is terminally ill and would undoubtedly benefit physically and psychologically from compassionate release to his home in Glasgow while he awaits the outcome of the appeal granted to him by the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission in June 2007. It will be many months before Mr Megrahi's appeal is finally decided
Their Lordships in the Court of Appeal have stated that they do not consider Mr Megrahi to be a flight risk
We would respectfully ask you to consider any application in a favourable manner allowing Mr Megrahi to spend his very limited remaining time in Scotland with his family and loved ones

It may well have been the biggest terrorist attack on mainland U.K ,however it now also seems that the "Lockerbie case" has been the biggest "miscarriage of justice"in mainland U.K...Its now up to those responsible to bring closure on the case by starting a new inquiry and pray that the true murderers are brought to justice.

The concealing of true evidence and substitution of corrupt evidence against the wrongly convicted VICTIM is not only a gross injustice perpetrated by the criminal NeoCONMEN & WOMAN (Thatcher), but also a grotesque insult to the VICTIMS of the bombing and their grieving familes given a false SCAPEGOAT to appease the shallow ignorance of the jUnK-media mislead masses.

Belatedly I sign this petition and urge others to read the evidence being released by Mr Megrahi's lawyers, now that he has been freed on compassionate grounds, but his appeal abandoned.
The nest step in securing Justice for Megrahi is to secure a pardon for the crime he never committed, now that his conviction cannot be overturned on appeal.

Having followed this case as carefully as possible, since Lester Coleman's disturbing book,I personally have little doubt Mr Megrahi is innocent. The Scottish Justice System has much to answer for. I only hope the Scottish Government is courageous enough to insist on a public enquiry and all the SCCRC papers published. The UK Government won't initiate it .

As al-Megrahi's legal appeal, which was based on evidence unavailable to the original trial, has been dropped in the light of his medical diagnosis, a full public enquiry to test the verdict is essential in the interests of justice, the victims' families and international understanding.

How this came to court beggars belief, if this gets the man out of custody on medical grounds and I'm sure that in the final analysis this man deserves an apology for the time served as charged.

While the Lockerbie incident was a deadly act of terrorism, but Mr. Megrahi's release on compassionate ground is a praise-worthy act.
First of all, whether Mr. Megrahi is really responsible for the incident is still under doubt; and secondly as a dying man he should be able to meet his family and friends for the last few days of his life.
Thanks to the Scottish government and justice system for their humanism.
Also, Lockerbie victims will be never forgotten.

Kenny Macaskill has shown what real compassion is and brought honour to Scotland's justice system.

Let this man spend the last days of his life with those who care for him.
Acts of hatred and retribution achieve nothing. Acts of compassion can build bridges.

I believe that there was a miscarriage of justice and the Mr Magrahi should not be detained further. He should now be released on compassionate grounds irrespective of whether his appeal cuntinues or not.

Please release Mr Megrahi on compassionate grounds. I think that this is a matter for Mr MacAskill to decide upon as Secretary of Justice for Scotland. Thank you.

The original trial was an appalling travesty of justice. I agree with Professor Robert Black's opinion that the conviction of Mr Megrahi was "the most disgraceful miscarriage of justice in Scotland for 100 years".

I feel that on compassionate grounds alone, Mr Megrahi should be released to spend his final days with his family. Given the fact that the Court of Appeal had already granted Mr Megrahi the right to appeal against his conviction and that there are so many doubts as to the safety of his conviction, failure to release him would only bring shame on the Scottish justice system and the Scottish Government.
Furthermore, it is the right of the victims' families and the people of Scotland to establish beyond all doubt who was responsible for this terrible crime and why it was committed.
I request you to change your decision and release him forthwith.

I firmly beleive that Mr Megrahi has been improperly convicted due to unfair, unlawful and dishonest evidence. He should be freed immediately and his conviction overturned.

I have been following this case very closely and I know many details that the media never reported. Mr Megrahi is innocent and should have never been convicted. So is Libya. Libya has nothing to do with the Lockerbie bombing. Injustice has been done not just with convicting an innocent man but also with imposing sanctions on a beautiful country that suffered a lot because of the sanctions.
