not a farm pig this is a house pig.

Please help amend the pet laws in my town

Target:
help us make potbelly pigs legal in our city
Sponsored by:
amend the existing pet laws  to include the potbellied pig as a pet or companion animal.

Many municipalities when first incorporated long before potbelly pigs even were introduced to this country wrote into their zoning codes the provision that livestock, farm animals, swine or pigs would not be permitted within the city limits.

THIS IS THE TIME to check and help clarify the outmoded notions of a pig as a pet. Clear definitions of what a companion pet pig actually is and more importantly what it is not.

Most cities in this country simply accept potbelly pigs as the companion and common household pets that they are. However not ours. I need your help changeing my city council's mind. potbelly pigs were Imported in 1986 as exotic house pet pigs, bred and sold as a household pet only, fed a specially formulated diet to promote a long and vigorous life. If you belive like me please sign my petition and I will show it to the board.Thank YOU FOR YOUR HELP

My family owns 6 pot belly pigs and they are litter trained, if you can litter train it then you should be able to keep it at your house. They don't stink and they are smarter than most dogs, I think that they make great pets.

Pet pigs are not farm animals. They are pets just like a cat or dog and should be recognized and treated as such.

We had a very special piggy named Priscilla who loved to do a cookie dance for a treat. She knew her name when called, loved to snuggle and watch tv with our family and other pets as well as the ever required tummy rub. She was litter boxed trained and went to the door as our dogs did to be let outside to go to relieve themselves. She was a member of our family for 10 years. We miss her deeply.
