The U.S. military is forced to involve themselves with foreign affairs that might not affect the U.S. Why should the U.S. involve themselves in affairs if they have no reason too. Just because we are allies to some countries doesn't mean we need to send our own troops into the country to have them die. We have given Israel over 3 billion dollars in aid, when they are one of the most powerful countries in their region. One of the reason Israel is such a powerful country is because they have the only nuclear weapons in the region. And along with that Israel also has a higher GDP than the U.S. does.
