Canada: Increase funding and programming to increase gender equality

Canada recently received a "C" grade in gender wage parity, a new study has revealed. However, some individual provinces ranked D or D- for gender wage gap, including Newfoundland, BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

It is obvious that there's a lot of work to be done in Canada, despite the Prime Minister declaring his feminism to the world.

The Prime Minister ensured that his cabinet was made up of at least 50% women and yet he has done little overall to change the fact that women are paid significantly less in this country.

While it is against the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms to discriminate based on gender it's obviously still happening all over the country.

This must stop. The government needs to take major steps to ensure that women are making the same as men. Economic stability is a major factor to healthy lifestyle and women deserve to have the same financial opportunities as men.

Sign today to tell PM Trudeau to stand behind his feminism with real solutions to the gender wage gap in Canada.

To PM Justin Trudeau,

As someone who cares greatly about gender equality I am deeply troubled by a recent report stating that Canada received a "C" grade in comparison with peer countries on issues of gender wage parity.

Not only that but four provinces graded D or lower in this area.

As someone who has publicly stated his feminism to the world I urge you to create real policy solutions to the gender wage gap and ensure that women have the same financial opportunities as men.
