Our city(Brantford) has no initiatives supported by our city hall or local shelter to help homeless cats unlike surrounding areas that have heavy support for trapping, neutering and releasing(TNR). Anyone who is educated in animal welfare knows this is a humane approach that works. Nearby Toronto has low cost and free clinics to fix the cats, build shelters and support colony caretakers. We are in the dark ages where I live and now they want to license the cats which will cause more dumping of cats by low income residents and burdening and shackling the individual residents that are working independently to help the homeless cats. The licensing would be burdening the already overburdened and moneys going the the high kill local animal shelter that does not support trap neuter release and humane proven alternatives to killing.
Keep up the great work. Look what you've accomplished!
