Medical Research Using CBD Oils as Anti-Inflammatories

There are people who suffer from chronic pain, who are prescribed harmful narcotic drugs in which they have the potential of developing a dependence. I'm not asking to legalize marijuana or even decriminalize it.

Oklahoma is taking the step to do research on whether taking out the non high-inducing ingredient, Cannabinoid (CBD) and creating it into a liquid medicine to help children suffering from seizures. I believe it would help all people with chronic pain. If a pharmaceutical company or medical research facility could put the oil into a soft-gel pill, we could get people off narcotic medication and improve their quality of life.

My mother suffers from severe chronic fatique and fibromyalgia. She isn't able to leave the house often and I know she wishes more than anything she could live a normal life. With medical research, Kansas could see if this is a viable alternative to narcotic pain medication, while being involved in breakthrough medicine that has the potential to bring in revenue and positive benefits for our state's economy.

By taking the steps to conduct a study through Wichita State's new innovation campus upon completion, Kansas can take a step in the right direction and make a difference for those suffering from a number of debilitating diseases and chronic issues. Please consider this petition.
