  • by: Phil S.
  • recipient: North Carolina members of Congress
We as citizens deserve to know what we are consuming in our. GMO stands for a genetically modified organism. Genetically modified organism is an organism that has had genes spliced into it. This is usually accomplished in order for crops , such as corn and soy, to resist pesticides, herbicides, and/or insecticides. The World Health Organization recently announced that glyphosate, a chemical used on gmo crops, is "probably carcinogenic" causing many countries to ban the chemical's use. If you think that it is important to know if our food contains carcinogens please sign this petition. Thank you.
