It's Time For A Change!

Working in a school setting in the UK, allowed me to see the floors of why racial tention around the world is so rife! Children don't learn about the key issues of racial tension because it's invisible to them until they reach adulthood.

I wanted to make a difference but didnt know how to get started or think I could make a difference in this world. I first read Stephen Lawrence autobiography several years ago, hence why I've now written a children's book that lays it out so children can read about those key values, life skills that would act as a learning tool, so all children discover their own uniqueness in themselves. A young boy was a bit imtimdated by my pressence, a black member of staff. After a couple of lessons he was able to see I was as normal as him. He said Miss Herbert you are alright, arent you. I said of course I am alright, why do you ask? He said it's your hair, I thought you were a baddy!

Signing this petition would allow the education authorities to act and get more books like 2nd Chance For Clifford in to Primary schools. Children need to be taught from a young age about diversity and kindness, then bullying and feeling imtimidated doesn't keep happening over and over again.

If we want a better world, where children can grow up freely without prejudging, discrimination, being bullied, isolated, sad & uncomfortable. Children should learn about being respectful, acceptance showing empathy & showing compassion to one another.
