Women Are Not Just "Hosts," Pull Your Anti-Abortion Bill!

"I understand that they feel like that is their body"

"I feel like it is a separate - what I call them is, is you're a 'host'.  And you know when you enter into a relationship you're going to be that host and so, you know, if you pre-know that then take all the precautions and don't get pregnant,"

These remarks were made by Oklahoma Representative, Justin Humphrey in an Interview with the Intercept.

The same Oklahoma representative that authored HB 1441; a bill that would require women to get written permission from her male sexual partner in order to get an abortion.  New York Magazine explains that he said he "wanted to give men a say in the decision of whether a woman gets an abortion or not, because women tend to make these decisions with the mistaken belief that their bodies are their own."

A woman's body is her own.  A women should never have to "get permission" from anyone to tell her what she can or can not do with her body.

Please sign to tell Oklahoma Representative to apologize for his offensive statements and pull his anti-abortion bill.

Dear Mr. Humphrey,

Your comments referring to women as "hosts" and your anti-abortion bill are completely unacceptable.  A woman's body is her own and should always be able to choose what she wants to do with her own body.

I strongly urge you to apologize for your remarks and pull your anti-abortion bill.
