I live on a dead end street with a big fenced in back yard, I have 2 chickens (hens) for eggs the provide to us everyday and to teach our 8 year old granddaughter whom we have custody of to care for animsls and teach her responsibility.the chickens have taught her to be patient as sh we has anger issues due to not seeing her parents as they both have a drug addiction. Everyday she comes home from school and plays out back with the 2 chickens. She reads them books and they set on the trampoline with her.i didn't realize there was an ordinance against having chickens as I'm on a dead end street and private fenced in back yard.the chickens free range on our land only, they are not mesn, destructible, noisy and they provide us with food everyday.thry keep the ticks away and fertilize our garden that provide us food all summer.mt neighbor has always caused trouble for us for the 4 years we have lived here and called the village of sidney of to complain about us having chickens, mind you.she never knew we had them until her son that came to our yard to play with our granddaughter told hid mother.iwill keep my chickens in a coop if the village of sidney would please consider changing the ordinance snd let my granddaughter keep the chickens to provide food and responsibility.the world needs me compassion and less hate and there are many wrong things people do then having chickens .please consider signing this to help us.thank you.
