Please help stop Social Security Fraud and mismanagement. Benefits are being given to people with small problems and poor medical records to back them up. While others with major disabilities and well documented records are sometimes waiting for 5 to 7 years to recieve benefits/or never recieve them.
I am a lung cancer survivor who lost my entire right lung-I also have copd, major herniated disc with vertabral damge with sciatica, a torn rotater cuff-Neither my back or shoulder can be operated on due to my lung-doctors say I will not survive surgery and have refused to do it. I have 36% of normal breathing capacity and suffer from migraines 15-20 days a month.
Having said that-I have been turned down for Social Security Disability 3 times, been denied by a judge, just won a federal appeal which sends it back to the original judge-who may deny me once again. I have been trying for 4 and 1/2 years. Since then my wife and I have seen 3 people get benefits. One had back pain for only six months-recieved hers first attempt, after recieving it she rode on a motorcycle from NC to Florida for bike week and back. The next one got hers on first attempt for fibromyalgia-since recieving hers she has opened a business making beaded jewelry under her husbands name and works with her hands everyday. The last is a drug addict who had "neck" pain and worked at his parents business for 7 years while waiting to recieve his disability after recieving his benefits and 7 years back pay he is still working there of course for cash only-he regularly lifts bags of seed and fertilizer as heavy as 50 pounds.
