Help Protect the Water Supply to 400,000 Residents of Montgomery County Ohio

  • by: Dayton Citizens Water Brigade
  • recipient: Urge Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, the Dayton City Commission and the Montgomery County Commissioners to protect our drinking water.

The City of Dayton, who controls the drinking water wells that service over 400,000 people in the Miami Valley, has plans to drastically change the protection areas that surround these well.

According to independent experts, these changes will increase the risk of groundwater contamination near the wells, placing unnecessary risk to our drinking water.

Over 30 years ago community leaders had the foresight to establish the now internationally known Source Water Protection Program to safeguard our drinking water well fields and the Great Buried Miami Valley aquifer.

As cities across the country are faced with water shortages and contamination, Dayton wants to shrink the protection areas and permit storage and use of unlimited quantities of hazardous materials in areas once protected.

Sign the petition to let them know that you do not support increasing risk to your drinking water.
