Save The Ozone Layer!

Nitrous Oxide, also called laughing gas, is dangerous to the ozone layer. It is the only natural regulator of Ozone. If not phased out completely, Nitrous Oxide should be regulated to a minimum. When Nitrous Oxide rises to the Stratosphere, the second layer of the atmosphere, it can interact with light energized oxygen atoms to create Nitric Oxide. This Nitric Oxide in turn reacts with ozone, depleting it. This seemingly insignificant amount can truly add up if the constant use of Nitrous Oxide is continued. We should stop this small problem from getting bigger. Nitrous Oxide is used in dentistry, you may have even been under the effects of Nitrous Oxide before. Nitrous Oxide is also known as Laughing Gas, so when you get a tooth pulled, or the like, you may be asked to breathe in Nitrous Oxide to numb the pain. Nitrous Oxide is also used in drag racing to increase the horsepower of the engine. The other use for Nitrous Oxide is for the launching of rockets. In 2004, there was a rocket that scientists were experimenting with, and for their oxidizer they used Nitrous Oxide. They found nothing wrong with this method, and if scientists decide to use this method, imagine all the Nitric Oxide that will be created. This is why we need to find an alternative to Nitrous Oxide.
