Take down every confederate monument or statue in the U.S.

Nathan Bedford Forrest was a confederate general in the Civil War who also was a slave trader and the first grand wizard of the Klu Klux Klan; a terrorist group that is responsible for the killings and torture of millions of black people. His statue still stands proudly in downtown Memphis, Tennessee which to us perpetuates a bigotry and hateful past of white backlash against civil rights during the Reconstruction period and civil rights movement that America seems to not be ashamed of. Previously activists and organizations worked together to remove the statue back in 2015 but not only did the Tennessee Historical Commission not approve of their petition on March 2016 they amended its rules to dismiss applications for those waivers so now in 2017 the statue still stands in a city were the black population is over sixty percent, which tells not only our black citizens here, but everyone worldwide that our nation is not shameful of their racist and murderous past which is worse than a slap on the face. This is not the only place where this has happened many states including up North, today and in the past, have dealt with these problems so our mission overall is to take down these statues one at a time starting with downtown Memphis and hopefully spark everyone in America to join the movement of removing these racist statues and putting them in places like the museum where it should be viewed as something our country should never forget however should be very ashamed of. This petition is the last call to get the Tennessee Historical Commission to remove the Confederate statue so we need your help! Please sign the petition and hopes to removing a statue that represents terror, bigotry, and hate.
