ASOS: stop exploiting your warehouse workers!

It's a nerve-wracking day, as usual. You are invasively monitored. You are afraid to take toilet breaks. When you do you take them, you are searched, and made to remove your shoes. You are even afraid to pause and drink a glass of water.

This is not a high security prison. This is the ASOS warehouse in the north of England.

When it got too much for young mum Joanne Goddard and she had a panic attack, she was fired in the name of productivity. Many other workers who fell sick have also allegedly been sacked.

There is no excuse for treating workers this way, and it's time for rights to win over greed. Please sign this petition to demand that hourly targets be reduced to a limit set by the GMB union (Britain's General Union for workers) in order to create fairer working conditions.

Joanne Goddard was just one of many ASOS warehouse workers and former workers interviewed as part of a thorough three-month investigation by BuzzFeed News. The investigation has revealed an invasive, exploitative and highly stressful work environment in which workers are pushed to their limits in the name of profit.

To keep up with ASOS’s 48-hour deliveries, workers said that they have to fill unrealistically high hourly performance targets. Their progress is monitored by managers who track the number of items scanned every 15 minutes.

It's been a great few months for worker victories. If we keep holding companies accountable, we can win better rights for UK workers and set a new standard we can all be proud of. Please sign this petition to demand that reasonable hourly targets are introduced in the ASOS processing warehouse.
