Support the University of Vermont's Transition to Battery-Electric Transportation

UVM Transportation and Parking Services has been considering the purchase of an electric bus to add to the shuttle fleet. Integrating this bus into the University's fleet would be another important step towards reducing our collective environmental impact and expanding the use of alternative fuels on campus.

On the Week of March 20th, 2017 a short trial was conducted where a BYD fully electric bus running the "on-campus" shuttle routes. To give feedback and opinions on the electric-bus fill out this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2Q5J55V

I commend the University of Vermont in their efforts to promote sustainability in the transportation sector by deploying alternative and renewable fuels, idle-reduction measures, fuel economy imporvements, and emerging transportation technologies. I urge the University of Vermont to continue to be a leader in sustainability among higher education institutions by making meaningful changes to uphold their reputation as a green university. Transportation and Parking Services (TPS) has a long-standing goal to have an environmentally-responsible fleet. I support the transition to battery-electric transit campus busses as a strategy for reducing the impact of our transportation services.
