The U.S. Navy is killing the world's sea creatures.
In its latest draft environmental impact statement, the U.S. Navy estimates that marine mammals may be harmed by sonar 2.8 million times a year during the training and testing planned over the next 5 years. That’s around 14 million times in just 5 years that marine life may be disrupted through behavior changes (such as hearing loss and altered reproductive habits) and deaths.
It is time to make the use of sonar in naval testing and warfare a thing of the past.
