On Monday Evening, Feburary 18th 2013 My son let his Boxer outside to use the bathroom. Within 5 seconds of my daughter in law turning and stepping back inside her home, she heard gun fire VERY close to her front door. She looks out to see that the Police Officer that was in the church parking area had got out of his car and aimed and fired and shot Athena..Athena managed to drag herself back into the back yard and there minutes later she died a horrible death! Athena was 5 years old, she was a lovable family member. When my son went and ask the cop WHY? the cop simply said he felt in danger!...But, he was just 1 second before he shot her he was sitting in his car.. and when he was ask WHY he was even on the church property he simply said "Patrolling" and when he was ask What he was patrolling, he simply said "Church's get broken into all the time". This officer Shot into an open area of my sons home and property, where at the time there were 5 small children in from the ages of 8 years to 11 months old. as well as shot seconds after my daughter in law stepped one foot back inside! We want Justice for Athena! and that shooting would be the LAST step in any situation as a line of "defense" We KNOW that Athena WAS NOT putting this officer in any sort of harm! Athena is dead now. But, This officer should NOT get away with killing her! he deserves Animal Cruelity punishment to the fullest extent! as well as unlawfully fireing his gun toward our home where children were. And whatever else can be done! LET THIS CRIME be HEARD...please sign our petition to make ATHENA'S LAW of killing innocent animals the crime it should be!! ..
