BOYCOTT ELEPHANT RIDES AT AMBER FORT RAJASTHAN INDIA - EXTREME ANIMAL RIGHTS ABUSE

  • by: Val Gaffney

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WWF IS NOT THE WILDLIFE SOS I HAVE NO IDEA WHETHER THE COMMENTS OF ONE PETITIONER ARE VALID OR NOT BUT PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE THE WILD WILDLIFE FUND WITH THE WILDLIFE SOS

I am urging everyone to sign this petition.  Elephants at the Amber Fort in Rajasthan are being abused daily just to give rides to tourists.  They have no shelter and stand on hot tarmac for hours with no water or food and they beat the elephants with those awful bull hooks, w hich should be outlawed for good.  The Rajasthan Government are turning a blind eye to this in the name of "Tradition and Tourism" therefore please everyone boycott riding elephants at the Amber Fort until the Rajasthan Government do something about this.  Out of 128 elephants at the fort only 4 of them are properly licenced so the Forestry Department could legally confiscate them and punish the keepers, under the Animal Welfare Act 1972. These elephants could be taken to a sanctuary but the Rajasthan Government refuse to act.  Let them know how we feel. Please share this with everyone - share with tourist agencies - anyone who will listen!

If you are in any doubt about this, please goto www.wildlifesos.org and read their article on the abuse these elephants have to suffer.

Thank you

Val

Rajasthan Government

Repected Sirs and Lady  We the petitioners are telling everyone to boycott elephant rides at Amber Fort until such time as you enforce The Wildlife Protection Act of 1972 and ensure that the unlicenced elephants are placed in a caring sanctuary and those that are at Amber Fort legally are given adequate shelter, food and water and treated with the respect that such a noble and majestic creature as an elephant deserves. The elephant is seen by the world as a symbol of India but the abuse and suffering they have to endure in the name of "tradition and tourism" doesn't look favourably on India

A responsible qualified vet should inspect these elephants on a weekly basis to ensure their wellbeing and the use of BULL HOOKS should be outlawed for good!

Respected Sirs and Lady

I remain your humble servant
