See The Girl
Be Aware of Gendercide in China and India

Gendercide is the systematic mass killing of members of a specific sex, and it exists today. It is most prevalent in India and China. More than 50 million women have been killed because of their gender, that’s more than the number of reported killings during the Holocaust.

Here’s the facts;

In these two countries combined, the annual number of sex-selective abortions for females is higher than the number of girls born in the United States every year.

The laws against feticide are not upheld, and approximately 700,000 girls are aborted each year. On average, one girl is aborted every minute in India for the sole reason that she would be born a girl.

Infanticide (another form of deadly gender bias) is widely practiced in India, and because of this the mortality rate for girls ages 1-5 is 75% higher than that of male children. 1 out of 4 girls in India do not live past puberty.

Dowry is illegal in India, but families still often expect it. Should a girl’s family fail to provide enough dowry, her husband or his family may abuse and kill her.

Due to this, India’s 2011 Census reports that there are 37 million more men than women. This gender gap has lead to many cases of human trafficking. Girls and women are regularly sold in India’s brothels. They (including young girls) are often kidnapped to become wives for men in villages with no women.
