DON'T BAN CERTAIN DOGS INTO EXTINCTION BECAUSE OF THE THINGS WE DID TO THEM!

A town in Louisiana recently voted to ban all Pit Bulls and Rottweilers, calling them “vicious breeds” of dogs. Current owners of these specific breeds had just 1 month to either move out of town, or hand their family pet over to the government to be destroyed. While there has traditionally been heavy debate over larger breeds of dogs, in recent years the debate has began to die down. An overwhelming majority of people now agree that like humans, a dog’s temperament and personality are largely based on their upbringing and life experiences.

Pit Bulls do not ask to overbred or to end up in shelters. They do ask to be trained to fight other dogs. Pit Bulls have been around for centuries without being thought of as monsters. It is animal abusers who have taughted them to fight and give Pits Bulls a bad rap. All they want is a loving home and to give love unconditionally. Instead we want to ban Pit Bulls into extinction because of the things we did to them.

THIS PETITION IS TO SAVE FAMILY PETS EVERYWHERE.

I want to thank you for signing this petition, however there does not seem to be very many interested so this petition is closed now.
Update #19 years ago
The ordinance that called for all pitbulls and rottweilers to be taken away from their owners by Dec. 1 and euthanized is now on hold because of the nationwide backlash regarding the ordinance. Lemoine said the board "make a mistake" by passing the ordinance without seeking more guidance and the village would likely get rid of it all together or possibly replace it with other, less drastic measures.
