We understand that the Hillsborough County School Board will be holding a meeting and voting on signing  a contract with HALAX (Hillsborough Alliance for Lacrosse) to launch the sport of Lacrosse in the HCPS. By signing this petition, we are supporting both boys and girls who are interested in playing Lacrosse in High School.

High School students that get involved in Lacrosse learn  to incorporate discipline, confidence, teamwork, perserverance and humility. Overall, the game of Lacrosse provides the motivation to not just perform at your best on the field, but, provides skills to carry through their adulthood.

Aside form physical training, students who play Lacrosse also profit their mental health as well. Taking time to play this sport has been known to reduce the rates of depression, reduce symptoms of anxiety and essentially clear the mind. One of the great benefits about Lacrosse is that you are part of a team. The players work, sweat, strategize and develope a bond that shares a common goal. This is a sport that will benefit our kids in the long run because it aides in preparing our youth to be productive citizens and responsible, upstanding adults.

Additionally, please consider adding Bloomingdale High School to the Pilot Program for 2014.
